A Letter From Hayden

Hello, delegates!

My name is Hayden Jackson, and I am so honored to serve as your Deputy Secretary-General for LIMUNXXXIX! 

LIMUN is more than a tradition—it’s a space where people come together to explore, debate, and challenge the problems facing our world today. I hope each of you walk away from this conference inspired, empowered, and confident in the impact you can make.

LIMUN has grown with me throughout high school and has truly come full circle. I started out as a freshman delegate, became a secretary my sophomore year, chaired a committee as a junior, and now, in my senior year, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Deputy Secretary-General. 

Here's a little about me:

• I am currently a senior at LAMP, where I stay pretty busy playing flag football and being a LAMP varsity cheerleader. I’m also a proud member of Science Olympiad, Heritage Club, Key Club...and many more clubs (as you can see, I like to keep myself busy LOL).

• When I’m not preparing for competitions or studying, you can usually find me volunteering at the Montgomery Food Bank or interning at Jackson Hospital, where I get the incredible opportunity to shadow surgeons. Outside of academics, I love baking, watching romcoms, and rewatching my all-time favorite movie—Save the Last Dance. I also enjoy reading, two of my favorite books are Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson and The Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen.

• I’m also a total foodie (seriously—if there’s food involved, I’m there). I can seriously throw DOWN on a seafood boil y'all, I gets down and I DON'T play! 

• While I love being around my friends—especially at football games—I also deeply value my peace and quiet time to reset.

Now, back to the serious stuff...It has been such a privilege to help lead this year’s incredible Secretariat. Each member of the Secretariat has worked hard to create a conference that is meaningful, inclusive, and impactful. Whether this is your first LIMUN or you’re a returning delegate, I hope you feel encouraged to speak confidently, think critically, and step into your role with purpose. Model UN gives you exactly what you put into it—so come prepared, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to lead!
