A Letter From Jayden

Hi delegates!

My name is Jayden Yang, and I am your UN Security Council chair this year.

In Model United Nations (MUN), the UN Security Council (UNSC) is a committee that simulates the United Nations' principal body responsible for maintaining international peace and security. It's comprised of 15 member states: 5 permanent members (the P5) with veto power (the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, and France) and 10 rotating, non-permanent members. At LIMUN, delegates in the UNSC discuss and address global issues related to armed conflicts, weapons proliferation, and acts of aggression, working to find diplomatic solutions to these challenges.

• My favorite Netflix series is Breaking Bad.

• My favorite soccer team is Real Madrid.

• This is my 4th year of MUN.

My secretary, (TBA)  and I would like to see an engaging and positive atmosphere in this committee. We expect you all to have a good time here and propose fantastic solutions in this session. We also expect you all to collaborate with other delegates and debate with other delegates on various topics.
